Inclusion Centre Manager Careers

Think you have what it takes to inspire positive attitudes and life changes in even the most challenging young people? Whether you bring strong leadership experience, a passion for developing others or a vision for creating impactful learning environments, we want to hear from you.

Role Overview

The Inclusion Centre Provision Manager role is an exceptional opportunity for those who are not just seeking a job but are driven by the mission of transforming the lives of young people across UK schools. Ideal candidates are vibrant, energetic, and deeply committed to influencing positive behavioural changes, fostering resilience, and nurturing the overall engagement of pupils. This role is designed for proactive individuals who thrive in the management of educational settings, who can independently manage and inspire both staff and pupils.

While previous experience in a similar role is not required, a background in working with young people is essential.

Frequently Asked Questions

We know you’ll have lots of questions about the role so we’ve answered some of the most common ones here!

What does a typical day look like?

An Inclusion Centre Manager at Think for the Future is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the centre, managing staff, leading morning briefings, and coordinating mentoring. The role involves high-level behavioural de-escalation, liaising closely with school leadership, conducting inductions, and holding regular parent meetings. The manager ensures a safe, structured environment that supports vulnerable students while tracking progress and driving positive outcomes.

How is success measured?

Success in the role is measured through key student outcomes: a reduction in permanent exclusions, behaviour points, and fixed-term exclusions; improved attendance; and increased re-engagement in education. All of these metrics are tracked and monitored through Think for the Future’s integrated platform, Purple, allowing for clear visibility of impact and progress over time.

How many students per centre and what age are they?

We maintain a 1:5 staff-to-student ratio in all our centres. For example, a centre with three staff members will accommodate up to 15 students, while a centre with five staff members can support a maximum of 25 students. Our provisions are located within secondary schools, where young people are divided into two classes: KS3 and KS4.

How are students selected?

We work closely with the school to identify students who will benefit most from our provision. The school selects students based on specific criteria, such as being at high risk of permanent exclusion, displaying frequent challenging behaviour, showing significant disengagement with education, or currently accessing off-site alternative provision.

Who delivers the curriculum?

The academic curriculum is taught by qualified teachers from the partner school, ensuring consistency and high-quality education. This is fully supported by our Inclusion Centre Mentors, who work closely with students to achieve strong learning outcomes. In addition, mentors deliver sessions from our comprehensive Social and Emotional Resilience curriculum, helping students develop essential life skills alongside their academic studies.

Testimonials

I was thrilled at the opportunity to manage a centre where I work with four other members of TFTF staff and help support twenty students who cannot access mainstream education. This role has allowed me to implement all I have learnt throughout my time in TFTF and help support the students who access our centre on a daily basis. I look forward to seeing how the centre continues to succeed and hope that we can help our students reach their potential in the future.

In 2023, I took on the role of Inclusion Centre Manager at Nicholas Chamberlain School. The opportunity to work with the same students every day and focus on improving their engagement with school appealed to me most. While the role brings daily challenges, the rewards are even greater, as it allows me to be with the young people throughout the day, providing consistent support and guidance.
